Pam Verwey, Tasmanian Commercial Photographer

Pam first became passionate about photography during an extended trip around Australia in 1984.Inspired by our unique and diverse landscapes , she felt compelled to capture the essence of Australia on film.

On moving to Tasmania from Sydney in 1986 she continued her work as a medical scientist, but was determined to combine her desire to study fine art with her interest in photography.

It was some years before this was possible , but Pam achieved her goal and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Tasmania in 1999, having majored in photography.

About Mad About Photography

After graduating, Pam established Lachlan Studios. As the business grew, a new image was embraced and Mad About Photography was born.

Landscape and Travel Photography

In recent years, travel within Australia and overseas has broadened these interests to include travel photography. Much of this recent work has been in Asia and the Middle East, capturing the soul of these regions through the people and the landscape. Bushwalking, sea kayaking and rafting have given her the opportunity to photograph Tasmania’s superb wilderness.

Pam is a member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) and has been awarded her Master of Photography.

In 2011, Pam moved back to mainland Australia and now lives in Daylesford, Victoria where she has started This is Real Photography, a new business focused on delivering professional real estate, architecture and landscape photography.
